My Very First Non-Tox Switch

Living in the world we live in today, considering switching to a nontoxic lifestyle can seem overwhelming at the very least. Our world is full of food with preservatives, body care and cleaning supplies with toxic chemicals, the list could go on and on. It's cheaper and much easier to find the toxic products than the non-toxic products.

This is where I found myself a few years back, and if you're like me, I just needed to make the first move to really get the ball rolling. But where to start? The very first switch I made was my deodorant! It's an affordable and easy switch to get you started on your path to a cleaner lifestyle.

Your armpits are a natural area of detox. Common deodorants contain aluminum which has been linked to Alzheimers Disease, Breast Cancer, and Heavy Metal Toxicity. The list goes on of terrible ingredients in deodorant, and most know it's not great, but nobody wants to smell bad. Finding a good, clean deodorant that actually works can be tricky. Lucky for you, I've done the handwork to find some amazing picks!

Over the years I've wasted a lot of money on natural deodorants that don't do a thing, or seem to make me smell WORSE. I'm always on the hunt for new deodorants that work, but I have found two that I absolutely love and recommend to everyone! They both are great, and it really just depends on your preference for which one you choose.

First up: OhMyGaia - This was recommended in a workout group I was in a few years back (if it works for the ladies working out, I thought it had to be gold). Sure enough, it is amazing. They have a TON of different scents and I usually purchase the pack of 3 for a discount. This deodorant is in a pot rather than a stick, so keep that in mind if you prefer otherwise!

The second option I love is Primally Pure Blue Tansy - This is a great deodorant in stick form that really works. A disclaimer: This does contain Blue Tansy which isn't recommended if you're pregnant or breastfeeding. It's a little bit pricier but both are great options to ensure you smell great and aren't putting toxic chemicals into your body.

I'm sure you've seen MANY other brands of non-toxic deodorants advertised, on the shelves at Target, etc. I have definitely not tried them all but I have tried many of the off the shelf offerings with no luck. Save your money and try these the next time you need new deodorant!
